On a late Saturday evening, the life of 33-year-old Danny Ray House Jr. was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred on November 2, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m. outside the D building of the Knollcrest Apartments, located at 3301 Creekwood Drive. House, a Black male, was reportedly approaching the apartment of an acquaintance when he was shot.
Emergency services transported him to Skyline Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Born in Nashville on September 25, 1991, Danny Ray House Jr. was a graduate of McGavock High School and had attended Chattanooga State. He was a father to four daughters: Ray'lei, Nylah, Legaci House, and Kaiylee. His family remembers him as someone who had accepted Christ at an early age. He had a passion for basketball, having traveled extensively for AAU basketball.
The Metro Nashville Police Department's Homicide Unit, in conjunction with The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding House's death. Authorities have indicated that a potential drug-related motive is a focus of their investigation as they continue to pursue leads. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no specific suspects have been publicly identified.
In an effort to gather more information, law enforcement has appealed to the public for assistance. Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the resolution of the case.
