In the early morning hours of New Year's Eve 2017, a young man's life was tragically cut short in a burst of violence on a Nashville highway. David L. Marsh, a 20-year-old male, was driving with a friend on Interstate 65 North after they had spent time at Club Premium on Murfreesboro Pike. As they traveled along the interstate, another vehicle pulled alongside their white Chevrolet Malibu and unleashed a volley of gunfire into the driver's side.
Both Marsh and his passenger were struck
by the bullets. Despite his injuries, Marsh managed to steer the car off the interstate near the Trinity Lane exit, bringing the vehicle to a stop. Emergency services were called, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
