In the autumn of 2016, a life was tragically cut short in a Memphis motel room, setting off a homicide investigation that, in some respects, remains unresolved. On October 6, 2016, police were called to the Americas Best Value Inn on American Way, where they discovered the body of 22-year-old Carlton Snipes, a male resident of Memphis. Snipes had been fatally shot. Another man in the room had also been shot but survived his injuries.
