Mahri Hawkins, a 30-year-old male from Nashville, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on December 20, 2016. He was one of two victims in an exchange of gunfire near Talbot's Corner in East Nashville. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. when suspects in a white Kia Optima drove by and gunfire erupted between the occupants of the vehicle and Hawkins, who was at a family member's house with Donnie McFarland, 34.
