In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of 26-year-old Tarrell Grant was tragically cut short. On April 23, 2023, gunfire erupted inside the Trap Up Studio, a hookah bar and lounge located on Hill Avenue. Grant sustained critical injuries during the shooting and was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his wounds.
He was not the only person affected by the violence that night; another man, David Bickham, who was 27 years old and working as the DJ at the establishment, was also shot and died at the scene.
When officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department arrived at the chaotic scene just after 2 a.m., they discovered one firearm inside the lounge.
