On November 19, 2024, 16-year-old Braden Caldwell was fatally shot at the WeGo Central bus station in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on the second level of the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center, following a physical altercation between Caldwell and another teenager. During the confrontation, Caldwell was shot twice and was subsequently transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, where he succumbed to his injuries.
