Carlos Moran, a 32-year-old man, was fatally shot on May 29, 2017, in the Napier-Sudekum neighborhood of South Nashville, Tennessee. Moran, who was of Hispanic descent, was reportedly grabbed and held down while the suspects went through his pockets before he was shot. He was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University’s hospital. The incident occurred during an attempted mugging outside a crime-plagued public-housing complex.
