Death by Force

On January 7, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to a shooting incident at the Sudekum Apartments on University Court in South Nashville. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Nashville resident Rodney Speed lying on the floor of a vacant apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. Speed was promptly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
