On a summer evening in Knoxville, Tennessee, the life of Isaac Reis Parks, a 34-year-old Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. On June 22, 2017, at his home on Foxglen Boulevard, Parks and his wife, Ashton, were shot by their 52-year-old neighbor, William Jeff Lowery. Parks was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound to the head. His wife was injured but survived the attack.
Isaac was known by friends and family as a man with a big heart and a great sense of humor.
He was a devoted husband to Ashton and a loving father to their son, Trace. An employee of Interstate Mechanical Contractors, he enjoyed spending his time outdoors, playing frisbee golf, listening to music, and, most of all, watching his son play baseball.
Investigators from the Knox County Sheriff's Office believe that prior disputes existed between the two households, though a specific motive for the shooting remains unclear. The investigation concluded that the incident was a murder-suicide, as William Jeff Lowery took his own life after shooting the couple.
Due to the death of the sole suspect, no charges were filed in connection with Isaac Reis Parks' murder. The case is considered closed by law enforcement. The community was left to mourn the loss of a man described as an amazing husband, father, son, and brother who will be forever missed and never forgotten.
