In the summer of 2017, a life was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Carlos Graham, a 38-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, June 24th. The incident unfolded in front of Our Bar Banquet Hall on Jackson Avenue, where a dispute escalated into deadly violence. Graham was shot multiple times during the altercation. Known affectionately as 'Dobbie' to his loved ones, he was described by his family as a loving husband and father, the very glue that held their family
together.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, family members were overcome with grief and disbelief, remembering Graham as a generous person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Witnesses at the scene recounted the brutal nature of the attack. The shooter was seen fleeing the location on foot.
The Memphis Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led to the identification of a suspect, 34-year-old Kendall Bonner. Bonner was subsequently arrested and faced a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Carlos Graham. The swift arrest brought a measure of progress to a case that had suddenly and violently shattered the peace of a summer evening and the lives of a Memphis family.
