In the summer of 2017, a tragic event unfolded in Chattanooga, Tennessee, ending the life of 45-year-old Kathy Hardy. On the evening of July 16th, she and her husband, Shawn Hardy, were on a pier in Renaissance Park when they were approached by three men. The encounter turned violent when the men demanded their belongings in what police later described as a botched robbery attempt.
