On October 29, 2018, Harley Evans, an 11-year-old girl from Whitleyville, Tennessee, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident at her home on North Fork Road. The incident occurred early in the morning when a school bus driver arrived to pick up Harley and her younger sister. Upon arrival, the bus driver found Harley's sister and another woman, who had been shot, waiting at the bus stop. The bus driver took them to the Mt. Vernon Fire Department, where they called 911 for help.
