On June 19, 2024, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Long Beach Police Department officers responded to a call in the 2300 block of Locust Avenue, where they found 43-year-old Myriam Zaragoza in full cardiac arrest, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body. Despite the efforts of the Long Beach Fire Department, Zaragoza was pronounced dead at the scene.
