Maria Cecilia Rosa, a 30-year-old deputy sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, tragically lost her life on March 28, 2006, in Long Beach, California. On that fateful morning, Rosa was leaving her girlfriend's house to head to work at the Inmate Reception Center at Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles.
