On a day meant for new beginnings, the life of 17-year-old Carlos Demel Guy was tragically cut short. The young man, known to his friends as 'Lil Los' or 'Lil Carlos,' became the first homicide victim in Shelby County, Tennessee, in the nascent hours of January 1, 2019. He was a male who had grown up in Memphis, attending Sherwood Elementary and later Germantown High School.
