On the evening of July 6, 2019, Richard Lee Marsh, a 27-year-old Black male, was in the parking lot of The Last Hole Bar at 1502 Jefferson Street in Nashville, Tennessee. At approximately 8:00 p.m., gunfire erupted, and Marsh was struck multiple times. A private citizen transported him to the emergency room at Nashville General Hospital with gunshot wounds to his head.
He was subsequently transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for further treatment.
Despite medical efforts, Richard Lee Marsh succumbed to his injuries and passed away the following day, late Sunday afternoon. The Nashville Police Department reported that a large crowd was present in the rear parking lot of the bar at the time of the shooting, but no witnesses have come forward with information. North Precinct detectives have been investigating the homicide, but their efforts have been hampered by the lack of witness cooperation.
To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Richard Lee Marsh, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case is now being handled by the Nashville Cold Case Homicide Unit, which continues to seek information from the public. Law enforcement has urged anyone who was at The Last Hole Bar on the evening of the shooting and has any information to contact the Cold Case Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers, with the assurance that they can remain anonymous.
