In the autumn of 2019, the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was shaken by the violent death of a promising young man, Clayton Mason III. A 25-year-old Black male, Mason was known throughout his community not just by his name, but by his actions as a dedicated activist, mentor, and educator.
