In the late summer of 2020, the life of a young man from Memphis, Tennessee, was violently cut short. Darrin Wilson Jr., a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on August 14, 2020. The incident that claimed Wilson's life also resulted in the death of another individual, Quinterius Simmons.
