In the early hours of Sunday, August 14, 2016, the life of a young Black / African American man, Travis Raggs, was cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Raggs, who was 21 years old, was shot at the Summit Park Apartments located on the 1700 block of Wilchester Lane. Police were alerted to the shooting when they received a call from Methodist South Hospital about a gunshot victim.
