In the early evening of January 12, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the Hickory Highlands Apartments in Antioch, Tennessee, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. TreVon Holloway, a 22-year-old male, was found in a breezeway of the apartment complex with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. Despite being rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
The events leading up to the fatal shooting began to
unfold as Metro Nashville Police Department's Homicide Unit detectives took charge of the investigation. It was determined that Holloway, along with another man, 27-year-old Christopher Gulley, had been in the apartment complex's parking lot. They were reportedly there to meet with the occupants of a dark gray SUV. What transpired during that meeting remains a crucial part of the ongoing investigation, but it culminated in an apparent exchange of gunfire.
When the South Precinct officers arrived at the scene at 100 Hickory Highlands Drive, they discovered Holloway wounded in the breezeway. A handgun was recovered from his person. Gulley, a resident of the apartment complex, had also been shot. He sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries in the incident.
In the days that followed, the investigation into Holloway's death continued, with detectives working to piece together the circumstances that led to the deadly encounter. However, the occupants of the dark gray SUV have not been publicly identified, and no arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting. The case remains an open investigation as authorities continue to seek information from the public to bring closure to the family of TreVon Holloway.
