In a turn of events that intertwined a man's past with his violent end, 46-year-old Eric 'Beezy' Bolden was killed in a shooting on Monday, May 3, 2021, in Knoxville, Tennessee. At the time of his death, Bolden himself was a wanted man, facing a warrant for second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that had occurred months earlier.
On that Monday, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a call on South Hembree Street and discovered Bolden outside a residence with
at least one gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to the UT Medical Center, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The Violent Crimes Unit of the Knoxville Police Department immediately began an investigation into the shooting death of Bolden. As of yet, no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his killing, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The narrative of Eric Bolden's death is complicated by the fact that he was the primary suspect in the October 28, 2020, shooting death of Lemuel Appling, a 41-year-old from Detroit, Michigan. Investigators with the Knoxville Police Department alleged that Bolden had shot Appling after an argument on Hillside Avenue. A warrant for second-degree murder had been issued for Bolden in that case, and authorities were actively searching for him at the time he was killed.
