On the evening of December 12, 2017, violent tragedy struck on the 5500 block of South Benton Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. DeAndre L. Cooper, a 32-year-old male resident of the area, was exiting his home when he was suddenly ambushed by unknown individuals. The encounter escalated rapidly as the armed suspects confronted him just outside his residence.
