In the late afternoon of a Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri, a call about a shooting directed police to the 14000 block of Interstate 49. Initially, their search came up empty. It wasn't until they widened their search, with the help of the Belton police, that they discovered a vehicle stopped along the interstate. Inside, they found the body of 23-year-old Cordell D. Bell, a resident of Kansas City. He had been fatally shot.
