On a Monday afternoon in Knoxville, Tennessee, the life of Muhammad Shabazz 'Bazzy' Allen, a 41-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On May 17, 2021, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers from the Knoxville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 2710 Louise Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Allen inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel were unable to save him, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the fatal shooting of the Knoxville native was immediately launched by the Knoxville Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit. Despite their efforts, the investigation has been met with challenges. Authorities believe that there were witnesses to the incident, but unfortunately, none have come forward with information. The case remains an open and active murder investigation.
In the days following the shooting, law enforcement officials made a public plea for assistance. They urged anyone who may have witnessed the shooting, was in the vicinity of 2710 Louise Avenue around the time of the incident, or had any contact with Mr. Allen on that day to come forward. To encourage tips, the East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward for any information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible. As of now, there has been no public announcement regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the death of Muhammad Allen.
