On October 1, 2023, 29-year-old Officer Tucker Blakely of the Knoxville Police Department was fatally shot while responding to a domestic violence call in the Inskip area of Knoxville, Tennessee. Upon arrival, officers encountered an armed suspect, leading to an exchange of gunfire during which Officer Blakely sustained critical injuries.
