In the early morning hours of January 22, 2024, a residence in North Knoxville became the scene of a fatal confrontation. Inside the home on Chesswood Drive, a dispute between two men who were known to each other escalated, resulting in the death of 47-year-old Benjamin Vellines, a White/Caucasian male. Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting at the address at approximately 2:50 a.m. and found Vellines suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced ...
