On the evening of March 16, 2022, Jeffery Carter Jr., a 40-year-old White / Caucasian man, found himself in a fatal confrontation in Madison, Tennessee. The events unfolded at approximately 7:20 p.m. at a Mapco gas station located at 401 Myatt Drive. Carter had pulled into the station in his gray 2003 Toyota Corolla when a black four-door sedan pulled up alongside him. Witnesses reported that the male driver of the sedan began yelling at Carter.
