In the early evening of June 24, 2024, in Madison, Tennessee, a violent altercation ended the life of 31-year-old Dondrinkus Dickerson. The incident, which police described as a targeted shooting, occurred on Brawner Avenue. An argument between Dickerson and at least one other individual escalated, leading to gunfire. Dickerson was struck in the head and rushed to Skyline Medical Center in critical condition, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation at the scene, police discovered a handgun underneath Dickerson's body. This weapon was later identified as having been reported stolen during an aggravated robbery in April of the previous year. The shooting also resulted in collateral damage, as a 28-year-old bystander was wounded during the event. The second victim received medical treatment and was subsequently released.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Homicide Unit detectives began actively pursuing what they described as promising leads in their search for the person or persons responsible for Dickerson's death.
