On March 27, 2022, Bryson Jackson, a 3-year-old boy from Memphis, TN, tragically died after accidentally shooting himself in the head with an AR-15-style pistol. Bryson was left unsupervised at home with his 4-year-old brother while his mother, Tinesha Jackson, and her friend, Tedrick Butler, went out. The gun, which belonged to Butler, was left unsecured in Tinesha's bedroom.
