In the late hours of a Friday in Memphis, Tennessee, the sounds of city life were pierced by the sharp report of gunfire. On May 20, 2022, what initially appeared to be a single-car accident on Kimball Avenue and Kimball Cove in the southern part of the city quickly turned into a homicide investigation.
