In the late hours of a Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennessee, 23-year-old Denzel Charles Hammond was fatally shot while sitting in the driver's seat of his car in the parking lot of the Summerwind Apartments on Bell Road. The incident, which occurred on March 30, 2022, left Hammond's vehicle still in gear when the first Metro Nashville Police officers arrived at the scene.
