In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 29, 2015, a night out for Armondo 'Mondo' Smoot ended in tragedy. The 24-year-old male had been at an after-hours club with two acquaintances and they had just arrived at a friend's residence at 4641 Forest Ridge Dr. in Nashville, Tennessee.
Shortly before 6:00 a.m., one of the men who had been in the car with Smoot went into the house. As Smoot was walking towards the door by himself, he was ambushed and shot multiple times.
He was unable to make it inside the home and died from his injuries.
Despite the passage of time, the case of Armondo Smoot's murder remains unsolved. Investigators have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with his death. The Nashville Police Department's Cold Case Homicide Unit continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation and bring justice for Smoot and his family.
