In a tragic sequence of events on the evening of October 13, 2022, Terry Farmer, a 24-year-old male, was fatally shot in Madison, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Rio Vista Drive following a brief altercation. Farmer was shot multiple times and was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The man identified as the shooter was 23-year-old Deandre Conway.
Immediately following the shooting, Conway fled the scene in a maroon Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Approximately ten minutes later, his attempt to escape resulted in another tragedy. At the intersection of Gallatin Pike South and Emmitt Avenue, Conway's truck collided with a Toyota Rav4. The crash claimed the life of 17-year-old Landen Guye and left four other teenagers in the Rav4 critically injured. Conway abandoned his vehicle at the crash site and fled on foot.
Metro Nashville Police Department quickly identified Conway as the suspect in Farmer's death and issued a warrant for his arrest. On October 15, 2022, just two days after the fatal events, TITANS detectives with the Metro Nashville Police located and arrested Conway on Indian Lake Boulevard in Hendersonville. He was initially charged with criminal homicide for the death of Terry Farmer.
In June 2025, a Davidson County jury found the now 26-year-old Deandre Conway guilty on all eleven counts he faced related to the deaths of both Terry Farmer and Landen Guye. After a four-day trial, which included testimony from more than two dozen witnesses, the jury deliberated for just three hours before reaching their verdict. The charges included Second Degree Murder and Reckless Vehicular Homicide, as well as multiple counts of Reckless Aggravated Assault. Conway faces the possibility of spending more than 60 years in prison if his sentences are served consecutively.
