In the late evening hours of Sunday, October 30, 2022, a workplace dispute at a United States Post Office facility on Shallowford Road in Chattanooga, Tennessee, ended in a fatal shooting. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Cody Ryan Ransom, a male employee who was training to be a supervisor. The incident unfolded around 10:30 p.m. when an argument erupted between Ransom and a fellow postal worker.
