On a Wednesday afternoon in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the life of 27-year-old Jamel Daeshun Sutton was cut short by gunfire. The incident, which took place on May 14, 2025, unfolded in the 1200 block of North Hickory Street, where police responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Sutton behind an apartment building, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.
