Raymond H. Davis, a 48-year-old male police officer with the Philadelphia Housing Authority Police Department, tragically died on January 4, 1982. Officer Davis succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head, inflicted by two robbery suspects he was attempting to arrest. The suspects, aged 38 and 41, had just robbed a bar in the 4600 block of Market Street and shot Officer Davis with a .38 caliber revolver as they were leaving the scene.
