Louis “Irish Louie” DeLuca, 51, male of Italian and Irish descent, was a South Philadelphia bookmaker whose long ties to the city’s underworld ended violently just after midnight on May 24, 1990. He was ambushed while parking his brown Cadillac near his home; windows were blown out by gunfire, and he was struck four times.
