Death by Force

Joaquin Montijo Jr., a 35-year-old male police officer of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically died on June 13, 1990, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Officer Montijo was shot in the head while responding to a disturbance on Fairhill Street near Lycoming Street. He was attempting to disarm a man holding a pistol when the suspect opened fire, fatally wounding him. Montijo succumbed to his injuries two days later, on June 15, 1990.
