In the early hours of October 3, 2020, a shooting shattered the quiet of a Philadelphia neighborhood, leaving a young man clinging to life. Just after midnight, at approximately 12:11 a.m., on the 2000 block of East Letterly Street, 19-year-old Kenny Keng Dang-Le was struck by gunfire. He sustained grievous wounds to his head, chest, and arm.
In the immediate aftermath, Kenny was privately transported to Temple University Hospital.
Medical personnel fought to save his life, but the injuries he sustained were too severe. Later that afternoon, Kenny Keng Dang-Le, an Asian male who resided on East Tioga Street, succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
For nearly two years, the case surrounding the death of Kenny Keng Dang-Le remained under investigation. Then, on September 14, 2022, a significant breakthrough was made. Philadelphia Police arrested three suspects in connection with the fatal shooting. The individuals taken into custody were subsequently charged with murder and other related offenses. The case is currently awaiting trial.
