Kalil Stafford, an 18-year-old male from Philadelphia, PA, tragically lost his life on April 28, 2020. He was one of two victims found suffering from gunshot wounds to their chests in the Feltonville neighborhood. The incident occurred around 5:57 p.m. when Philadelphia Police officers responded to a call at the 4700 block of North 3rd Street. Despite efforts to save him, Kalil was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.
The second victim, 20-year-old Joseph Humphrey, also succumbed to his injuries later that evening. The investigation into the double homicide continued for over a year, with homicide detectives working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
On October 25, 2021, a suspect was arrested in connection with the murders of both Kalil Stafford and Joseph Humphrey. The suspect faced charges of Murder, Conspiracy, and related charges under the Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act . The case was pending trial at the time of the arrest.
The community and authorities hoped that the arrest would bring some closure to the families of the victims and justice for Kalil Stafford and Joseph Humphrey.
