Patricia Ann "Trish" McDermott, a 48-year-old woman of Irish descent, was tragically killed on May 17, 2005, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was an X-ray technician at Pennsylvania Hospital and was well-regarded by her colleagues for her dedication and kindness. Trish was on her way to work when she was shot in the head by her assailant, Juan Covington, a fellow employee at the hospital. The incident occurred shortly after she exited a SEPTA bus on Market Street.
