Haala Mickens, a 22-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was tragically murdered on December 1, 2009. Mickens was found on Wayne Avenue near Manheim Street in the Germantown section of the city, with a gunshot wound to the left side of her head. She was discovered in the early morning hours, around 1:57 a.m., and despite efforts by first responders, she did not survive the attack.
