On the evening of July 1st, Delzingaro was inside the bar in the Olney section of the city when she was struck by a stray bullet and killed. The senseless act of violence left her family reeling and searching for answers that would become increasingly elusive.
The investigation into Delzingaro's death was troubled from the start, marked by a
frustrating lack of communication from the Philadelphia Police Department. The family's quest for justice took a devastating turn when the two lead homicide detectives assigned to the case were arrested on corruption charges, shattering any hope for a swift resolution. The first detective was accused of aiding his girlfriend in fleeing the state after she committed a murder. Compounding the family's distress, the bar where Delzingaro was killed was owned by the father of the detective's girlfriend, raising serious concerns about a potential cover-up and tampered evidence.
