In the early morning hours of June 26, 2013, a violent home invasion in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, claimed the life of 24-year-old Brian Cook. The male victim was at his Versailles Avenue home with his girlfriend, Stephanie Pavlovic, and their one-year-old son when an intruder broke in around 5:30 a.m. Cook was fatally shot in the head while he and Pavlovic were in bed. Pavlovic sustained a gunshot wound to her hand but survived the attack; the child was unharmed.
