Justin L. Battiste, a 34-year-old man from Mobile, Alabama, was fatally shot on January 26, 2022, in what authorities later classified as a homicide. The shooting took place late in the evening when Mobile police responded to reports of gunfire in the 600 block of Azalea Road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Battiste suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
