On a Tuesday in the autumn of 2013, the life of Jordan Trydette Breeland Sr., a 21-year-old African American male, was cut short on the streets of York, Pennsylvania. On October 15th, he was found inside a car in the 100 block of Jefferson Avenue, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. First responders attempted to render aid, but their efforts were ultimately in vain.
His death was the result of a drive-by shooting, an eruption of violence rooted in an ongoing and bitter feud between two rival street gangs. Breeland was known to be a member of the Parkway gang, and his killing was part of the violent conflict with the Southside gang.
