On a spring morning in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the life of a dedicated public servant, Sergeant James Timothy Chapin, was tragically cut short. The 51-year-old male officer with the Chattanooga Police Department was killed in the line of duty on Saturday, April 2, 2011, while responding to an armed robbery. A veteran of the force for 27 years, Chapin had also served with the U.S. Capitol Police Department.
