In the early morning hours of August 18, 2014, the body of 23-year-old Hezekiah Delvar Walker was discovered on a sidewalk in the 300 block of West King Street in York, Pennsylvania. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors later reported hearing gunshots at approximately 2:30 a.m., several hours before police were called to the scene around 6 a.m. for a report of a man down.

Hezekiah Walker, who lived in Columbia but grew up in York, was not involved in any gang activity. The investigation into his death eventually led police to a suspect, Kashawn Flowers. Authorities alleged that Flowers, a member of the South Side gang, shot Walker in retaliation for the killing of a fellow gang member by a rival West Side gang member the previous year. Tragically, Walker was mistakenly targeted.
According to police, Flowers encountered Walker walking alone and asked him which 'side' he was from. When Walker indicated he was from the west, Flowers shot him. Recorded statements from Flowers' associates revealed that he later admitted to the shooting and expressed happiness about it. Cellphone data placed Flowers near the scene of the homicide at the time of the shooting.
In February 2019, while incarcerated on other charges, Kashawn Flowers was charged with criminal homicide for the death of Hezekiah Walker. In October 2021, a jury found Flowers guilty of first-degree murder. He subsequently received a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
