On March 5, 2015, Sergeant Robert Francis Wilson III, a 30-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wilson, who served with the Philadelphia Police Department for eight years, was conducting a routine security check at a strip mall when he and his partner interrupted a robbery at a video game store. Wilson entered the store to conduct the security check and to purchase a video game for his son's birthday.
