In the winter of 2021, a young man's life was cut tragically short in Philadelphia. Rahmez Rockeem Naheem Jones, a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on Saturday, December 18, 2021. The incident occurred in the Kingsessing neighborhood of the city, where Jones was discovered in a rear alleyway on the 5400 block of Willows Avenue.
Philadelphia Police officers responded to a call just before 2:00 p.m. and found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound.
In a desperate attempt to save his life, the officers transported him in their patrol vehicle to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Despite their efforts and the medical attention he received, Jones succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that afternoon.
The investigation into the death of Rahmez Jones is ongoing, and as of now, it remains an unsolved homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to appeal to the public for any information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. Authorities have urged anyone with knowledge of the shooting, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and contact the Philadelphia Police Department. A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
